Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the nPro platform, unified observability, pricing, and deployments.
Platform & Architecture
How do Npro XDR, SIEM, and EMS work together in one platform?
Unlike fragmented security tools, nPro integrates these three engines into a single
on-premise stack. Npro SIEM aggregates and correlates raw logs; Npro XDR provides active
threat defense and MITRE ATT&CK® mapping; and Npro EMS (NRTG) monitors network health and
infrastructure uptime. Data flows seamlessly between them, allowing you to see a security
threat in the XDR while simultaneously seeing its impact on network performance in the EMS.
Is nPro a cloud-based service or self-hosted?
nPro is a self-hosted solution designed for maximum data privacy and control. Our optimized
installer deploys the entire stack—including the high-performance ClickHouse
database—directly onto your infrastructure (optimized for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS). This ensures
your sensitive log data never leaves your network.
What makes nPro's installation "Zero Configuration"?
Our "5-Minute Deploy" script automatically detects your OS, configures the backend services,
sets up the ClickHouse database, and opens the necessary ports (1514, 1515, 21560). This
eliminates the "configuration hell" typically associated with deploying enterprise SIEM and
XDR solutions.
Does the platform support File Integrity Monitoring (FIM)?
Yes. Npro XDR includes built-in File Integrity Monitoring. It tracks changes to sensitive
system files in real-time, helping you meet compliance requirements and detect unauthorized
modifications by attackers.
How is nPro.ai different from traditional SIEM solutions?
Traditional SIEM tools often require complex integrations and manual correlation across
disparate systems. nPro.ai eliminates these silos by providing unified security architecture
with built-in SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) capabilities. Our
platform offers automated threat detection using AI, real-time event correlation without
manual rule writing, and native integration across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid
environments—reducing mean time to detect (MTTD) and mean time to respond (MTTR).
What security environments does nPro.ai support?
nPro.ai provides comprehensive protection across all environments: public clouds (AWS,
Azure, GCP), private clouds, on-premise data centers, and hybrid infrastructures. The
platform offers container security, workload protection, and file integrity monitoring
regardless of where your assets reside.
How does nPro.ai handle vulnerability detection?
Our platform performs continuous vulnerability scanning and configuration assessments to
identify security gaps before exploitation. nPro.ai correlates vulnerability data with
threat intelligence to prioritize risks based on actual exploitability, and provides
automated alerts with remediation recommendations to maintain compliance with regulatory
standards.
Which compliance standards does nPro.ai support?
nPro.ai helps organizations achieve and maintain compliance with major regulatory frameworks
including GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework. The
platform provides automated compliance reporting, configuration assessment against
benchmarks, and audit-ready documentation to streamline security posture management.
Pricing & Scalability
Does nPro.ai offer for free?
Yes. nPro.ai provides a free version with full platform access to evaluate XDR, SIEM and
NRTG features. Organizations can test threat detection, automation workflows, and
integration compatibility before committing to a subscription, with many more features
included into nPro enterprise tier.
What is included in the free vs. paid plan?
The free plan provides access to core XDR and SIEM detection capabilities, automation
workflows, and integration testing. The enterprise tier unlocks advanced features including
expanded data retention, dedicated customer success management, deeper compliance reporting,
priority support SLAs, and full SOAR orchestration at scale. Contact the nPro.ai team for a
detailed feature comparison.
How do I scale my plan if I add more network nodes or endpoints?
Upgrading is managed through your license key. You can move to a higher tier (e.g.,
increasing your NRTG distributed probes or XDR endpoint count) via the client portal. The
platform will automatically recognize the new limits once the license is refreshed,
requiring no re-installation.
Can I downgrade my plan mid-subscription?
Yes, you can schedule a downgrade for your next billing cycle. Because nPro is self-hosted
and relies on a local ClickHouse database, a downgrade simply limits the number of active
agents or probes reporting to your dashboard at the start of the next period. We recommend
ensuring your active device count matches your new tier limits before the transition date to
avoid data gaps.
Is there a cost for the ClickHouse database or backend services?
No. The core database and backend components are included in your subscription license. You
are only responsible for the underlying hardware/VPS resources where you choose to host the
nPro stack.
What support options are available?
nPro.ai offers tiered support including self-service documentation, technical support for
implementation and troubleshooting, and dedicated customer success managers for enterprise
accounts. Partners receive additional technical enablement and sales support resources.
Partners & MSPs
What is the nPro.ai Partner Program?
The nPro.ai Partner Program enables consultants, VARs, and MSPs to monetize their client
relationships through reseller, referral, and technology partnerships. Partners can activate
"Pro" features for clients and earn 40% recurring commission for the lifetime of the
customer relationship—not just one-time payouts.
Can I deploy nPro for multiple clients as an MSP?
Yes. The nPro architecture is ideal for MSPs who want to provide a "Security-as-a-Service"
model. You can deploy individual, isolated stacks for each client on their own Ubuntu
instances, ensuring total data sovereignty for your customers.
What support is provided for the "NRTG" network monitoring engine?
Partners get deep-dive documentation on setting up Distributed Probes and hierarchical
topology maps. This allows you to monitor complex client infrastructures across multiple
geographic sites from a single centralized nPro dashboard.
